My heart/brain/life as of Wednesday, March 21:
-I am SO SO SO EXCITED because my girl Sarah is coming to stay with me this weekend. Her man has a track meet here, which I'm also excited about because that means I get to go hang out with the West Point track team on Saturday. I'm more excited to see Sarah though, I promise.
-I had a realization the other day: you know how manners are somewhat genetic? Not in the sense that they get passed down through genes, but in the sense that they get passed down from parents to children. I'm sure there's a word for that but my tired brain just can't think of it right now. Anyways, basically, if your parents don't teach you things like table manners or basic respect for others, you don't really learn it. So I became absolutely TERRIFIED at the fact that my kids are going to be growing up with the kids of people who aren't going to teach them manners and rules on how to treat others. I guess we all go through it...but I don't want to watch my child deal with that. UGH. Good thing I have a few years to wait before this becomes the least bit relevant.
-It seems as though more and more of my time is getting devoted to Pinterest and Tumblr these days. I just pin/tumble all the time. It's the greatest because I can be everything I want to without actually having to move away from my desk: interior designer, stylist, mom, amazing cook, wedding planner...etc. If only real life were that easy (and jobs didn't require some degree of education or training).
-I'm thoroughly convinced that there is no better place to be in the spring than Charlottesville. Call me biased, whatever. It's AMAZING. Everyone needs to experience it. By the way, happy official spring! I'm so happy it's here :)
-I've been thinking a lot about the role that love plays in a Christian's life. I suggest reading "Love vs. Everything Else," by Chip Roberson (just a quick blog post). I came across it tonight and it goes right alongside my heart. Give it a look if you have a chance!
Homework time :( Hope you're all having an excellent week!
PB&J (Peace, Blessings, Jesus)
