....for finals. Yup, it's that time of year. Every college student's dream: finals week (I was kidding about the dream part, obvi). The next two weeks are going to be brutal, but then it's CHRISTMAS TIME! And time for an entire month off from school. Now that part is every student's dream. But until we reach that day (hurry up, December 17th!), I am celebrating because this week has been a week of firsts:
-My first fire alarm fiasco (attempted alliteration-see, told you I should be in a writing class). Not only did I have to stand out in the cold once...but it happened twice. IN ONE NIGHT. That's what you get for not having to deal with that until the last week of the first semester.
-My first time decorating a dorm room for Christmas (Thanks for sending up the decorations, Mommy!)
-My first time crying over school work. Darn you, Biology lab. I could not be more thankful that tonight is the last lab session.
-My first time going to a TA's office hours for help on said Bio lab.
-My first time preparing for the end of a semester at college (yay, finals! .......right).
Today is also the first day of December! And we all know what that means...25 days until Christmas (including today)!!! It's going to be extremely hard to not let the joy of the season be overshadowed by the stress of all of this school work. But I just wanted to take a second before I sprint through the next two weeks to say how awesome this time of year is. The world is trying so hard right now to secularize Christmas and drain every bit of meaning out of it. But I don't want that to happen here! So this year, really emphasize the meaning of Christmas as you prepare to celebrate this fabulous day. Christmas is of ultimate importance...it is celebrating the first step in the Greatest Rescue Mission Ever. The step in which Jesus Christ became flesh, setting God's glorious plan into motion. Don't let that slip to the back of your mind!
Merry Christmas! The holiday season is upon us. Make each and every day an act of worship and rejoicing (that should happen all year, but now more than ever) because our Lord is King. And all God's people said...AMEN!
