Snow came to Charlottesville today at the perfect time. Well, perfect and not-so-perfect. Not-so-perfect because it makes me wish I was at home to hang out with my family and friends and enjoy the snow instead of being here at school studying for my finals. Perfect because snow does something magical to the world...it brings a stillness, a tranquility...a peace that just settles down your heart for a bit. You know those books...Chicken Soup for the ___'s Soul? Well, that's what snow is. Chicken soup for the soul. It relaxes you and calms you down. Kinda cool how that works. (Fun fact: Christmas trees are proven stress relievers. Just looking at them lowers stress levels...maybe snow does that too?)
So I'm going to be positive and look at the fact that I woke up to a blanket of snow over the Quad today as a GREAT thing. A God thing. I needed it really badly. Life is chaotic right now. It's finals week. It's the last week of my first semester at college. Some relationships are stressed. I'm more aware of my brokenness than usual. I'm emotionally and mentally exhausted. So thank you, God, for sending some snow last night/today. Thank you for sending something to make the world stop in its tracks for a moment. Thank you for time to pause and practice the art of being still. Thank you for reminding me that You are God, and my world is in Your hands- not my own.
