Let me just recap my week for you-
Sunday night: At dinner, my parents informed my sister and I that we have taken a leave from our country club. I am so ashamed to admit that Cat and I spent the rest of the evening bawling our eyes out. We were so sad. (It makes us sound like such brats...but I mean, it's really just the memories we have there and how much we were looking forward to this coming summer.)
Throughout the week: Cat and I had many, many conversations about money & happiness. We know we don't need money to be happy. But really, sometimes it's fun to have! But obviously, we're learning right now...and I am coming to terms with that. It's just hard to not know what's going on right now, especially with a HUGE college payment coming up in the next few months. But God has a hand on it, I know. It will all be okay.
This morning (Sunday, a week later): I glanced down at my church bulletin to see that today's sermon was entitled, "Ever Wish You Had a Little More Money and That You Would be Happier if You Did?" Um, hi God....just so you know, you're hilarious. Quigg preached on 1 Timothy 6:3-11, and it hit home. I love wake up calls like this. Boy, did I need it.
In church, we sang All for Love. One of the lines says, "Abba, Father, have your way." I'm going to work on applying that to my life. Right now, I think God is getting rid of many of the things in my life that are getting in His way. And if that's what He's doing, so be it. It's not gonna be easy, but I'm ready for whatever it takes to be closer to Him--Christ is All.
"Thank you, God, for this good life and forgive us if we do not love it enough."
