Overwhelmed with Joy in the Lord my God ((Isaiah 61:10))

Okay so yesterday was actually a double sermon for me. Obviously, God decided that I needed to learn a lot...and I did. And I am in awe.

A few months ago, I came across Luke 13:6-9: "He spoke this parable. "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none. He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?’ He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it. If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.'"

Well, I have been going through a situation that perfectly fits this mold. I had a tree that wasn't producing any figs. So when I saw this passage, I decided to apply it to my life. I gave the tree some extra attention, and weeks later, there were still no signs of fruit. Continuting to follow the advice of the passage, I cut down the tree, and God has blessed me so much in that! It's been amazing.

So back to the double sermon...yesterday Luke 13:6-9 was one of the Gospel readings in church. I thought it funny that it had come back up, and thought hard on it. I was able to reflect on what I've learned within the past few weeks, and it gave me an amazing sense of closure. Little did I know, God was also preparing me for what would happen later last night. A flood of repugnant text messages from this ex-tree came out of nowhere. Had I not had the reminder from yesterday morning about how things have changed for the better, I would have crumbled. However, I had the strength from knowing I am where God wants me to be, and I was able to just let go and move on. And even after a conversation that should've been very painful...I am overjoyed (Oh hey, Isaiah 61:10!).

So what do we take from this?
-God cares. A lot. Psalm 37:23 says He delights in every detail of our lives.
-He knows what He is doing. Jeremiah 29:11 babyy!

((Sarah and Jenny...I hope you see this:))
All I can say right now is You go, Jesus!
