It's that time of year again...

Well, I hate to say it, but I'm officially 21.
I can't really believe it, either.
(Apparently I posted this picture last year...but I just love it so much that you get to see it again...sorry not sorry).

I have had the most amazing celebration; I feel so ridiculously spoiled (and blessed, of course).
The weekend began with a kidnapping by my roommates.  We ended up at one of my favorite Charlottesville restaurants, West Main, where several of my closest friends were gathered.  It was fabulous.

Saturday, we had our first home game...and won!  Such a great (yet hot/sweaty/gross) day.  Saturday night, my wonderful Big invited a bunch of our friends over to her house and then we headed out to partake in 21-year-old activities.  So. Stinking. Fun.

Sunday, I started off the day with a lovely breakfast by my roommate from last year, then went to church (I was actually so happy my birthday was on a Sunday--I loved getting to bring in my new year with some Jesus time!) and had a relaxing afternoon until my family came in for dinner.  We did presents and went to another of my favorite Cville eating spots--Fry's Spring Station--then had cake back at my place.

It was such a wonderful weekend and my heart is literally still so happy.  I love birthdays--they are a time to reflect on the previous year of your life, trace back over the amazingly intricate story that God has woven into your past 365 days, and celebrate the sweetness that life is.  I am so sappy, I know, but it's all true!  Last year on my birthday, I wrote:
From here on out, I would like to think of my birthday as a Thanksgiving of sorts-a day of praise for who God is and the role his awesome, awesome grace has played in my life. It shall be a day to meditate-to taste and see that the Lord is good. Because he always, always is. And I hope that as I grow up and become a woman of faith, my life will proclaim that truth.
I still love that and wish to renew that mindset for the coming year.
God is so, SO good.
End of story.
