November 12th

This one's nerdy. Because, let's be real, I'm kinda a nerd sometimes. But I just saw someone's Facebook status and it said, "Life of Pi...wow." And it made me think- I am so thankful for good literature--for people who have been given the gift of using words so very well. Last semester, I read Life of Pi, which is absolutely AMAZING. I took a class called Religion in Modern Fiction, and so many of the books were just stunning pieces. It inspired me. So this past summer, I read Pride and Prejudice and Heart of Darkness. In high school, we read Heart of Darkness and spent maybe three months on it (Jenny, you probably remember this. Jenkles was obsessed with that book). I hated it. But after reading it this summer, I must say it is probably one of my absolute favorite pieces. So today I say thank you for people who can really (and I mean really) write. I thank God for giving us so many talents which we can use for his glory--especially the talent of writing (because when someone has God-given writing talent, it's just really fun to read).
