candy pizza

Yesterday, I was able to have lunch with one of my best girl friends at Short Pump mall in Richmond. We have this ongoing joke about how our primary goal in life is to be precious little homemakers/ all-star wives and mothers/ Real Housewives of Wherever- We-End-Up-Living (plus class and Jesus, of course), and as we chatted over lunch (and an extremely caloric dessert that we picked through a rock-paper-scissors tournament--complete with a bracket), we joked about how my job right now is basically a paid internship to prepare me for my future. This summer, I am nannying for the same two children I nannied last summer. And while some days are better than others, we do have fun together and ultimately, I do love it. I think the whole "paid internship as a mom" thing is actually why I love it- I like taking care of these kids and spending my time chauffeuring them around, making meals for them, watching them play video games, etc. Thursday afternoon, however, was particularly fun because we got to experiment a little in the kitchen. And you know what we made?

We made this little gem of a dessert called Candy Pizza. Looks totally delicious, right? HA. But as bad as cinnamon roll+cherry pie filling+cotton candy+sour gummy worms+gummy sharks sounds, it actually wasn't that awful (key word: that). Obviously, the guys loved it and don't have to worry about how this affects their bodies (Dear thirteen-year-old-metabolism, I miss you SOOO MUCH). But as for me and my typically healthy eating habits, I don't know that I would try this recipe again.
