But God...

I think I have decided that but may be one of the best words in the entire Bible. The word holds so much hope for us as humans. It signals a complete reversal...a change because of something God has done out of his unending love for us. So today, Easter Sunday, we celebrate one of these "buts." Acts 10:39 says, "They put him to death by hanging him on a cross, but God raised him to life on the third day" (NLT). BUT GOD RAISED HIM TO LIFE. Death=conquered. The grave could not hold our King!!! That means that we now have the opportunity to have life to the full! Abundant, eternal life. A restored relationship with God. Life as it was meant to be. Praise God!

God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.
