Sometimes, Really Weird Stuff Happens to Me

So today I am completely overwhelmed with work for my classes. SO MUCH READING TO BE DONE! And soooo little time with which to do it. Oh my, I am so stressed out right now. It's almost like I've been kicked in the stomach and had the wind knocked out of me. My friend and I were walking out of our last class and we were talking about how sometimes you just have to take stuff to God. (Actually, you need to take stuff to God all the time, but sometimes it is harder than others). It is really hard for me to take my school work to God. Always has been, always will be. So I got to the library so I could start reading for my lab tonight (pages 37-81, oh my gosh..) yet I haven't started yet because I decided to search for God instead. I didn't bring my Bible with me, so I just skimmed over the blogs I usually read, etc. I looked down at the clock at 1:34. You see, my life has been really weird lately-I always look at the clock at 34 after. 12:34 and 4:34 are the most common ones. I thought, what the heck, I'll look up Psalm 34. And Psalm 34:18 (the Message) says this, "If your heart is broken, you'll find God right there; if you're kicked in the gut, he'll help you catch your breath." God will help me catch my breath. Ah, what relief! I need that so badly right now! The the chorus of "The More I Seek You" comes to mind...
"I wanna sit at your feet
drink from the cup in your hand.
Lay back against you and breath,
hear your heart beat

This love is so deep,
it's more than I can stand.
I melt in your peace, it's overwhelming"

Sometimes you just need to look at the simple truth and meditate on that. The truth that God gives us perfect peace beyond all our understanding may be all that we can cling to at some points in life. So alright, here we go...I want to melt in his peace. I want to be impressed, overwhelmed, amazed by the love he has for me and his ability to help me catch my breath when I need it most. Isn't he wonderful? :)

"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies."
-Philippians 4:6-8 (The Message)
